Listeners of Diamond Groove Radio are being met with sad news this week, as it has been confirmed that the station will cease all broadcasting by Tuesday, 30th September 2025. As a result, the beloved weekly show ‘The Friday Night Groove’ hosted by Lee will no longer air, bringing an unexpected end to popular programmes being broadcast.

Diamond Groove has been a familiar name for fans of soul, funk, disco and motown, broadcasting both online and via DAB+ across several regions. The Friday Night Groove, in particular, was offering an upbeat, feel-good soundtrack to kickstart the weekend every Friday evening.

An official spokesperson confirmed the news that the station would close, "The Project is over " the statement read.

While the reason behind the closure has not been disclosed in full, the station will continue to broadcast a non-stop mix until the end of the month.
